Lighting & Fan Help Group

I’m the admin of a few Facebook groups, which is always an interesting little “side job” — and a completely volunteer one, at that! Recently, I’ve pointed a few people toward the Fixture Finder group I started about eight years ago. To my surprise, several people didn’t know about the group but found it immediately helpful. That got me thinking it was time for a quick blog post to remind the residential lighting and fan community that this group exists — and to hopefully bring some new members into the mix. Like most communities, it’s most successful when more people are actively involved.

Around the same time I started the Lighting Showroom Coalition (which has since been rebranded and is still here on Facebook), I also launched the Fixture Finder group. The goal was twofold: to help identify light fixtures (back before Google image search was as powerful as it is today) and to source that one last piece for a project — whether it was on backorder or discontinued. Over the years, it’s worked remarkably well. I’ve even sold a few fixtures myself that would have otherwise sat untouched in my warehouse, while helping another showroom solve a real problem.

So, if you’re a lighting or fan professional reading this, I hope you’ll join us — and check in on the group from time to time. And if you’re posting in search of an item, please remember that a photo makes a huge difference. The vast majority of our successful matches start with a picture.

If you work in the residential lighting and fans industry, both of these groups were built for you. Join us, participate when you can, and help keep this resource strong for our entire industry. Links below :
